TEHRAN – Tehran is set to host a conference of six regional countries on ways to combat the threat of terrorism and coordinate counterterrorism efforts.
The conference will be held from December 7 to 9. Parliament speakers from Russia, Turkey, China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan will participate at the conference.
The conference is aimed at weighing plans to combat terrorism, share the experiences of participants, adopt new and effective regional approaches, promote regional cooperation, and push for the establishment of broad-based and sustainable peace and development, Tasnim reported.
The previous meeting was held in Islamabad, Pakistan, in December 2017.
The proposal to hold such meetings was put forward by Pakistan’s Parliament speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq during the second meeting of parliament speakers from Eurasian states in Seoul in June 2017.
